Our Company

Our History

1973
Mr. René Rivet, started his own business more than 35 years ago. He was a Grain and Protein Broker to the Feed Trade and decided to control and expand his activities to diversified ingredient lines and to diversified markets such as the Food Trade.

1975
The Company becomes the exclusive distributor of a U.S. based Cocoa Products manufacturer for food applications and simultaneously spreads its milk ingredients distribution activities to those markets.

1987
Michel Langlois, M.B.A., joins the Company with a mandate to diversify the ingredient lines and to restructure the internal sales and administrative operations.

1988
Marie–Claude Langlois B.A.A., joins her brother Michel and handles all the customer service and administrative operations, including the computerization of the Company.

1989
Michel Langlois buys all the shares in the Company and becomes President. Mr Rivet will stay as Key Account Manager and Consultant for the two years transition period.

1990
The Company moves from an office building in Montreal to a rented warehouse in Laval (Quebec) to improve the monitoring and conditioning of orders and keep on improving the level of customer service offered by the Company.

1991
While Michel Langlois coordinates the distribution activities on the milk ingredients side, Marie-Claude Langlois focuses on the diversification of our ingredient lines adding commodities as well as functional ingredients from exclusive suppliers that are the leaders in their own fields. These diversified activities bring an expansion to our coverage of territories and industries across Canada making us one of the national leaders in the Food and Feed distribution markets. The Company’s structure changes to meet these new material and manpower requirements while remaining flexible to maintain and keep on improving our level of customer service.

1993
Marie-Claude Langlois becomes a shareholder in the Company.

2003
To meet the increasing demand for storage and office space, the Company builds a new warehouse in Terrebonne (Quebec).

2005 – 2008
The Company introduces a major change in its sales structure by adding two product managers with extensive market knowledge, a dynamic Sales Director and a mix of experienced Trade Account managers and Food Science Sales reps, that together will support the addition of new ingredient lines, and provide the platform on which the promising new sales opportunities will be launched.
